TECHNICAL GRADES
Technical levels in judo are divided into student - kyu and master - dan. There are six pupil grades from 6th kyu (lowest) to 1st kyu (most advanced) and ten master grades from 1st dan (lowest) to 10th dan (highest).
Professor Jigoro Kano (1860-1938) was awarded the 11th dan after his death. He is the only person to have attained this degree. The bearer of the 12th dan should be the spirit and idea of judo.

BINDING THE BELT
Find the centre of the tape - grab both ends, bring them together and find where the centre is.
Place the centre of the tape against the navel.
Guide both ends of the tape backwards around the body and forward again.
Pull the top end upwards under both layers of tape on the stomach.
Tie the first single knot so that both ends are pointing downwards.
Connect the two ends with a second knot (like tying shoelaces).
The belt must be tight, the ends should reach approximately mid-thigh.

SHERPIES
There are a lot of new skills and knowledge to be acquired to get a 5th kyu. Learning the gymnastics, falls and techniques will give a beginner a lot of work, as well as the terminology, history, rules and etiquette of judo. To master everything at once is too difficult for young judo players (5-8 years old). That's why in our club we have developed a system called. Sherpas. Gradual mastery of the requirements of the examination regulations is evaluated during the preparatory period with sash in the colour of each kyu, which children sew on their belt after completing the examination. Obtaining the highest possible sash is a prestigious matter that greatly motivates our youngest members. After obtaining a brown sash, the little judoist is ready to playfully pass his first real exam and earn the coveted yellow belt.
